About Me
Tiffany Leung is a recent graduate of the New Media and Web Development program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Focusing on the branding and identity aspects of communication design, she finds herself influenced by Japanese and Korean cultures. Graphic designers like Simone Legno, who created the Tokidoki brand, are an inspiration to her.
Prior to this program, Tiffany was a honours graduate of the Design Essentials Management Certificate program, a joint program between BCIT and Emily Carr University. While there, she gained skills in graphic design focused on the print industry. Tiffany’s interest in new media and technologies led her to further her studies in the New Media and Web Development program.
Tiffany has been employed in various companies in both administrative and retail sales roles. In 2005, Tiffany was employed at Starbucks Coffee’s Western Canadian head office as a partner resources assistant. Although it was an administrative position, she found herself learning a lot about the company and its brand. This was a contract position and a year later she found herself employed at Red Ginger Cosmetics Company. Red Ginger is a distribution company who sells cosmetics and beauty supplies to both a wholesale and retail market. Working at Red Ginger Cosmetics enabled Tiffany to gain experience in working in these two markets. While still in school, Tiffany worked as a part-time cast member for the Disney Store in Metropolis at Metrotown. Working at the Disney Store allowed her to see the effectiveness of bringing a strong brand to life.
When not at school or at work, Tiffany likes to get away from the computer and enjoy the sunshine. Being a native to Vancouver, she enjoys going down to the beach or parks with her family, friends, or dog. She also likes to travel. Tiffany traveled to many places in North America but was excited to have traveled overseas to Tokyo, Japan last fall.
For the future, Tiffany hopes to work in a company creating designs focused on branding and identity. With the skills she has, Tiffany believes she will bring a splash of creativity to the industry.
